Xe Company Description
Xe (formerly Blackwater Worldwide) is trying to rebrand itself primarily as a provider of military and defense training services at three sites across the US. Previously known for supplying private military contractors during the US-led invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, Xe's new focus is on specialized training for military, security, and law enforcement professionals, and manufacturing aircraft, surveillance products, defense vehicles, and weapons equipment. The rebranding came in early 2009, after the Iraqi government refused to grant Xe a newly required license to perform security work there and the US State Department announced it would not renew its contract, which was about one-third of Xe's revenues.
