Xcorporeal (formerly CT Holdings Enterprises) is a medical device company engaged in the development of artificial kidneys and related products. Its prototype wearable artificial kidney is designed to provide ongoing dialysis, and an increasingly normal lifestyle, for its users. Xcorporeal also has home and hospital devices in development. Although focused on kidney replacement products, the company is also exploring applications for its technology to treat congestive heart failure. Xcorporeal was established in 2006; venture capital firm CT Holdings Enterprises acquired the company in a reverse merger the following year. Chairman Terren Peizer owns a majority stake in the company.
