Overview
Wyeth is wise in the ways of health care. The company operates in three segments, the largest being its Pharmaceuticals business, which sells antidepressant Effexor, arthritis drug Enbrel (with partner Amgen), and vaccine Prevnar, as well as anti-infectives, vaccines, nutrition and women's health products, gastroenterology drugs, and treatments for hemophilia and cardiovascular conditions. The company's Consumer Healthcare unit produces such familiar over-the-counter brands as Advil, Centrum, Robitussin, and ChapStick; and subsidiary Fort Dodge Animal Health makes health products for livestock, horses, and pets, including vaccines, pharmaceuticals, parasite control products, and growth implants.
