Overview

They're here to pump (clap) you up! Previously endorsed by former Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympia (aka the governor of California) Arnold Schwarzenegger, World Gym International runs and franchises health and fitness centers, and sells workout gear including apparel, water bottles, sports bags, and related accessories, as well as nutrition products. Some 40 World Gyms are 1440 All Axcess clubs, which are open 24-hours (or 1440 minutes) a day. In 2006 World Gym International was sold to low-cost, no-frills outfit PFIP, which does business as Planet Fitness, for about $10 million. Planet Fitness was sold to private investors made up of the Joyce J. Cammilleri family in late 2008.
