Woodbridge Holdings Company Description

Woodbridge Holdings has roots in early suburbia. In its previous incarnation as Levitt Corporation, the company was perhaps best known for its ownership of Levitt and Sons, the homebuilder that constructed pioneering Levittown suburbs in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, but the unit filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in late 2007. It changed its name to Woodbridge Holdings the following year and recast itself as an investment firm. Its holdings include Core Communities, a developer of master-planned communities in Florida and South Carolina, and an approximately 30% stake in resort and golf community developer Bluegreen.
