Windstream Company Description

Instead of relying on the prevailing breeze to deliver services to its customers, Windstream makes use of more tangible connections such as fiber optics and copper wire. The company provides local and long-distance telephone service, as well as broadband data transmission and Internet access, to about 3 million residential and business customers in 16 states. It also offers satellite television through an agreement with DISH Network. The company also distributes telephony and communications equipment, largely to affiliated carriers and institutions, through subsidiary Windstream Supply. Windstream makes sales directly in part from about 60 retail locations.
