Let's give a big hand to Wells Lamont. The century-old company, established in 1907, is the world's largest glove maker. It manufactures hand coverings, including work gloves, garden gloves, hunting gloves, mittens, and professional oven mitts. Wells Lamont operates through three business units. Its namesake unit makes gloves for the retail market; Midwest Leather Group operates leather and pigskin tanneries; and Wells Lamont Industry Group makes protective hand coverings for industrial use. Its foreign subsidiaries include Canada's Jomac and Hong Kong's Austins Marmon. It sells its products through such retailers as Wal-Mart, Lowe's, Sears, Callahan's, and others. Wells Lamont is owned by The Marmon Group.
