Waterford Wedgwood Company Description
Waterford Wedgwood is (gently) toasting its position as the world's premier maker of luxury crystal and fine china. The company's Waterford Crystal Group produces handcrafted crystal stemware, lamps, and giftware under the Waterford and Stuart brands. The Wedgwood Group makes fine bone china giftware and tableware under the Wedgwood brand. The company owns German ceramics makers Rosenthal. In 2004 it sold its US premium cookware maker, All-Clad, to SEB to reduce debt. Chairman Tony O'Reilly and his brother-in-law, deputy chairman Peter Goulandris, increased their control of the company in 2005 and now own more than 51% of the company.
