Overview
Visa Canada is a subsidiary of the leading credit card company in the world, Visa Inc. (formerly Visa International). With approximately 30 million cards in circulation, about two of every three credit card-carrying Canadians have a Visa card. Its cards are accepted at more than 550,000 locations and some 20,000 automated teller machines (ATMs) throughout the country and Canadians make more than $250 billion worth of purchases and withdrawals on their Visa cards annually. Although Visa Canada does not issue cards or credit, it does provide transaction authorization and marketing support services to its member banks.
