Vestas believes the answer to the world's energy needs is "blowin' in the wind." Vestas Wind Systems and its subsidiaries manufacture and sell land-based and offshore wind turbines used to produce electricity. The top manufacturer enjoys 40% of the market for wind turbines, selling more than 3,000 every year. Vestas has about 30 manufacturing plants, mostly in Europe. It also offers installation, repair, and maintenance services to its more than 200 customers, mostly large energy companies such as EDP Renováveis, E.ON, and in the US, Enel North America and Noble Environmental Power. The world's largest wind turbine manufacturer generates more than two-thirds of its sales in Europe.
