This studio hopes its media projects will have universal appeal. Formerly known as NBC Universal Television Studio, Universal Media Studios is the TV production and distribution arm of media conglomerate NBC Universal. The unit primarily produces drama and comedy series for its flagship NBC network, such as The Office and Las Vegas, as well as programs for other networks (FOX's House). Its Law & Order program is the longest running drama series on primetime, and has spawned two successful spin-offs. Universal Media also produces late night programs (Saturday Night Live) and owns a library of older series such as Miami Vice.
