The company rents, launders, and sells industrial uniforms and protective clothing (shirts, pants, coveralls, jumpsuits, lab coats, smocks, and aprons), as well as non-garment items (such as floor mats). UniFirst also decontaminates and cleans garments that have been exposed to radioactive materials in nuclear facilities. Another segment of the company provides first-aid cabinet services and safety supplies. UniFirst generates some 40% of the industry's volume. Members of the founding Croatti family manage the company and control about 83% of the voting shares.
