Overview

Ultrapar's strategy goes well beyond breaking even in Brazil. Holding company Ultrapar Participações' subsidiaries distribute liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), through subsidiray Ultragaz, refine and market petroleum products (through Companhia Brasileira de Petróleo Ipiranga), produce chemicals and petrochemicals, and provide storage- and transportation-related products. Chemical and petrochemical activities are handled through subsidiary Oxiteno. Another major subsidiary is Ultracargo, which handles transportation and storage. Ultrapar also operates a petroleum refining business through its investment in Refinaria de Petróleo Riograndense S.A. Ultra S.A holds a 66% stake in Ultrapar.
