Formerly known as UBS PaineWebber, the company is the result of the merger of Swiss banking colossus UBS and venerable brokerage PaineWebber. The operating unit of UBS's Global Wealth Management segment in the US, the company offers brokerage, financial planning, and investment products to individuals; it even offers investment services for art lovers. Its corporate services include employee stock benefit and deferred compensation plans. UBS Financial Services also provides access to the brokerage, investment banking, and asset management capabilities offered by other UBS units.
