Ube-Mitsubishi Cement is Japan's second largest supplier of cement and a joint venture between leading Japanese materials producer Mitsubishi Materials and diversified chemical, metals, and machinery provider Ube Industries. The company markets cement and related products manufactured by its parent companies. It primarily serves customers in the construction and industrial markets. Ube-Mitsubishi also operates a cement research institute in Tokyo. In an effort to break into the potentially lucrative Russian cement market, Ube-Mitsubishi Cement began exporting cement products there in 2008 -- a first for a Japanese company.
