U.S. Concrete cements its position in the market through consolidation. The company was formed to buy companies that produce ready-mixed concrete and related materials (bagged cement, precast cement products, building materials) and services. Ready-mixed concrete accounts for the lion's share (more than 90%) of its sales. The company has a fleet of 1,000 mixer trucks and about 160 ready-mixed concrete, concrete block, and aggregate plants. U.S. Concrete produces nearly 7 million cubic yards of ready-mix, 1 million concrete blocks, and 4 million tons of aggregate each year. It concentrates on serving major markets, including California, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Texas.
