Overview
Tyco Electronics Subsea Communications (formerly Tyco Telecommunications) ties together a world of communications with underwater cable. Known as TE SubCom, the company designs, builds, installs, and services submarine fiber-optic communications systems. It is the world's largest supplier of undersea fiber-optic cable networks, and it is the only US-based vendor for such systems. It has installed more than 80 systems for other companies worldwide resulting in more than 200,000 miles of submarine cable. Its other activities include R&D and the manufacture and distribution of such supplies as fiber-optic cable, signal amplifiers and repeaters, and other network gear. TE SubCom is a unit of TE Connectivity.
