Turnberry Associates is turning real estate into gold. The company develops and manages commercial and residential real estate, primarily in South Florida and Las Vegas. Among its key developments are the 2.4 million sq. ft. Aventura Mall and The Residences condominium hotel (properties containing vacation homes that individual buyers can release for rentals) at MGM Grand Las Vegas. In 2005 the company paid $165 million for the legendary Fontainebleau Hotel & Resort in Miami Beach, the largest hotel in South Florida. Turnberry Associates has developed more than $7 billion of property since it was founded in 1967 by managing partner Don Soffer, who with his family continues to control Turnberry Associates.
