Tube Lines Ltd.'s business has gone down the tube -- just where it is supposed to be. Consequent to its 30-year public-private partnership (PPP) contract with London Underground, the company is accountable for maintaining and improving some of London's larger underground rail lines (Jubilee, Northern, and Piccadilly). In addition to maintenance operations, the company also provides distribution, emergency services, and training programs to London Underground. Its educational courses include IT, safety, maintenance, and signal training. The Tube Lines, which began in 2003, is owned by construction and rail infrastructure specialist heavyweights Amey and Bechtel.
