Overview
TriQuint fills it up with GaAs. TriQuint Semiconductor uses specialized materials -- such as gallium arsenide (GaAs), gallium nitride, and quartz -- instead of silicon as the substrate for its analog, digital, and mixed-signal integrated circuits (ICs). GaAs ICs operate at greater speeds than silicon chips, or at the same speeds with less power consumption. TriQuint's ICs are used in aerospace, automotive, communications, navigation, radar, cable TV, and wireless networking applications. Customers have included Futaihua Industrial (affiliate of Foxconn International) and Samsung Electronics. TriQuint also offers contract design and fabrication services. More than 60% of sales come from outside the US.
