Overview
Transtar's strength is rooted in its robust transport services. The company, which moves steel and other products on trains and barges, was formed in the 19th century to serve its parent, steelmaker U.S. Steel. Transtar works from start to finish, hauling raw materials such as iron ore, limestone, coal, and coke to sites; providing in-plant transportation; and moving finished products.
