Tracinda Company Description
Tracinda may be the majority stakeholder of casino and hotel operator MGM MIRAGE, but its biggest show is owner Kirk Kerkorian. Nonagenarian Kerkorian has owned all or part of movie maker MGM three times. He has also been the scourge (or savior, depending on your outlook) of the automobile industry, with shares at various times in GM, Chrysler, and Ford. However, in light of 2008 economic conditions, the investment company has decided to focus its investment strategy on its old standbys --hospitality, gaming, and oil & gas industries. It owns more than a third of Delta Petroleum. Tracinda is named after Kerkorian's daughters, Tracy and Linda.
