Toronto Maple Leafs Company Description

When the fall colors start to turn, Toronto hockey fans come out to see these Leafs. The Toronto Maple Leafs hockey franchise is one of the Original Six professional teams of the National Hockey League and it boasts 11 Stanley Cup championships (its last in 1967). The Leafs joined the NHL in 1917 as the Toronto Arenas before switching names to the St. Patricks two years later; the team adopted its present name in 1927. Despite a lack of championship runs in recent years, a loyal following keeps Toronto's Air Canada Centre filled during most home games. The franchise and its home arena are owned by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, which also owns the Toronto Raptors professional basketball team.
