Overview

ThyssenKrupp Technologies builds big. The ThyssenKrupp AG subsidiary has five business units. Automotive Solutions develops products for the automotive industry, including damping and steering systems. Marine Systems builds various sorts of ships, including non-nuclear submarines and frigates for military use and huge yachts for private customers. Mechanical Components makes industrial camshafts and crankshafts, tunnel driving machinery, and undercarriages for earthmovers. Plant Technology builds chemical and cement factories and makes production equipment for those industries and for mining operations. Transrapid makes magnetic levitating (maglev) trains.
