THOMSON Company Description

THOMSON's business is changing from providing the electronic gadgets that entertain consumers (including TVs, home theater systems, and DVD players) to providing technical services that support entertainment providers. The firm sold its unprofitable TV business, which made RCA- and Thomson-branded sets and picture tubes, in order to focus on digital video technologies. THOMSON offers production, post-production, and sound services, and electronic distribution to film studios; DVD replication to software and game developers; and professional sound and video equipment to TV networks. THOMSON's products are sold under the Grass Valley, RCA, Technicolor, and THOMSON brands in some 30 countries.
