The Puerto Rican Family Institute (PRFI) wants to keep families intact. It offers more than 20 social and health care programs to families residing in primarily Latino neighborhoods in New York and New Jersey, as well as in Puerto Rico. Services include mental health treatment through clinics in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Jersey City, Manhattan, and Queens; crisis intervention; foster care placement prevention programs; Head Start programs; and education. PRFI also reaches out to the mentally and developmentally disabled in its target communities, operating intermediate care and residential alternative facilities.
