Overview

Despite being more than a quarter-of-a-century old, The Gymboree Corporation is still a retail toddler, stumbling periodically, learning quickly, and growing fast. The company sells clothes and accessories for kids in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico at about 615 Gymboree stores that carry colorful, fashionable playsuits and rompers for kids up to 12 years old. Gymboree also operates 115 Janie and Jack (better newborn and toddler apparel) and about 115 Gymboree Outlet stores and corresponding e-commerce sites. The firm also provides parent-child play programs (designed to enhance child development) at some 600 franchised and seven company-operated Gymboree Play & Music centers in the US and 30 other countries.
