Overview
Suzuki Automobile (Thailand) imports, exports, and wholesales Suzuki-brand cars and trucks. The company is a joint venture between Suzuki Motor Corporation (60%) and Siam International Corp. (20%; chairman Phornpong Phornprapha of Siam also controls 20%). Since 2003, Thai Suzuki has produced small 4-wheel-drive automobiles for sale throughout the Asian market. It exports the Suzuki Sporty to Indonesia and plans to roll out vehicles to other countries in the future. In Thailand, the company sells its cars and trucks through a network of dealerships. The joint venture announced in late 2007 plans to build a new manufacturing facility in the Raylong province capable of producing more than 135,000 cars by 2010.
