Thai Airways Company Description
Thai Airways International ties Thailand to the rest of the world. The carrier transports passengers and freight to about 75 destinations, including about a dozen domestic markets and more than 60 in other countries, mainly in the Asia/Pacific region, but also in Europe, the Middle East and North America. It extends its network as a member of the Star Alliance marketing and code-sharing group, which is led by UAL and Lufthansa. (Code-sharing enables airlines to sell tickets on one another's flights and thus offer potential passengers more options.) Thai Airways operates a fleet of about 90 aircraft, nearly all of which are Boeing or Airbus jets. The government of Thailand holds a majority stake in the carrier.
