Thai Airways International Public Company Limited
Overview
Thai Airways (THAI) ties Thailand to the rest of the world. The carrier transports passengers and freight to some 60 destinations, including 40 Asian, Indian, and Middle Eastern regional routes and another 20 in Europe, Africa, Australia and New Zealand, and North America. It extends its network as a member of the Star Alliance marketing and code-sharing group, led by United Continental and Lufthansa. (Code-sharing enables airlines to sell tickets on one another's flights and thus offer potential passengers more options.) THAI operates a fleet of about 90 aircraft, nearly all of which are Boeing or Airbus jets. The government of Thailand holds a majority stake but is considering a future public offering.
