TG World Energy Company Description
TG World Energy is an exploration and production company that concentrates its activities on an oil and gas concession in Niger, West Africa. The company has a joint venture with a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) to explore, develop, and produce in Niger's Tenere Block. TG World holds a 20% interest in the permit. In 2003 the Niger government gave the 8.6 million-acre permit to CNPC after terminating TG's lease. TG World hopes that oil discoveries in the block will lead to the construction of a new oil pipeline to link with pipelines in Algeria, Libya, Nigeria, or the Sudan. The company also has a minority share in a joint venture exploration unit in Alaska.
