Tenaris Company Description
Through subsidiaries, Tenaris manufactures and distributes seamless steel pipe products. Siderca, the company's Argentine producer, makes casings, tubing, and line pipe used in the oil and gas industry. Subsidiary Tubos de Acero de México, S.A. (Tamsa) also manufactures casings, tubing, line pipe, and other mechanical and structural seamless pipe. Italian subsidiary Dalmine makes seamless steel pipe used by the automotive and machinery industries. It purchased Siderca, Tamsa, and Dalmine in 2002 to bring the units under one brand, reduce costs, and enable Tenaris to compete internationally. Investment group Rocca & Partners controls 60% of Tenaris; it also controls fellow South American steel producer Ternium.
