Overview
As Australia's #1 telecommunications carrier, Telstra provides fixed-line services to nearly 10 million access lines and serves 9 million mobile phone customers. It is also the country's leading ISP, through BigPond, with more than 4 million broadband subscribers. Telstra primarily serves consumer and residential customers, but its business and government segment comes in a close second. The company also provides wholesale network services and support to other communications companies while its Sensis telephone directory unit specializes in print, online, and wireless advertising. The company also owns 50% of pay television operator FOXTEL. Telstra also has sales and service operations in Europe and in the US.
