Poland's former monopoly, Telekomunikacja Polska S.A. (TPSA) is one of Central Europe's largest telecom operators. The company has more than 10 million fixed lines in service. It provides mobile phone services to some 12 million subscribers through wholly-owned wireless subsidiary PTK Centertel (under the Idea brand) and offers Internet services through its TP Internet subsidiary. TPSA also provides domestic and international long-distance, leased lines, radio communications, and telecom equipment sales. Through its Cogecom S.A. subsidiary, France Telecom controls nearly 48% of the company's voting stock; the Polish government holds less than 4% of the company.
