Telenor ASA reports Q2 operating profit of NOK5.5bn [Nordic Business Report](23 Jul 2008 00:01:00 EDT)Norwegian telecomms group Telenor ASA reported on Wednesday an operating profit of NOK5.5bn on revenues of NOK27.2bn for the second quarter 2008. Both operating profit and sales for the three-month period increased, respectively, from NOK5.4bn and NOK26.3bn, as compared to the corresponding period in 2007. Earnings per share amounted to NOK2.11, down from NOK2.30 a year ago.

He will succeed Tore Johnsen from 15 August 2008, the company said. Abdullah has more than 15 years of experience from the telecomms industry.
