TCL Company Description

TCL Corporation brings ringtones to the ears of the people. The company, which does most of its business in China, is one of that country's leading makers of cell phones and televisions. It also makes other household appliances, personal computers, standard wireline telephones, and electrical components such as light switches and cabling. TCL has technology partnerships with Microsoft and Intel. The company, established in 1981 as maker of cassette tapes, is owned primarily by the Chinese city of Huizhou. TCL's other investors include Philips and Toshiba. TCL sells its products in more than 40 countries under its own brand, as well as the Alcatel, RCA, and THOMSON brands.
