Tate & Lyle Ingredients Company Description
You may have heard of some of Tate & Lyle America's customers. Try PepsiCo, or how about Coca-Cola. The company, a subsidiary of UK ingredient giant Tate & Lyle PLC, is one of a handful of companies that make high-fructose corn syrup -- the sweetener used by virtually all soft-drink manufacturers in the world. Offering more than 350 food and industrial starch products, the company is one of the largest corn refiners in the US. In addition to corn syrup, Tate & Lyle Americas also manufactures food ingredients such as fat replacers, starches, sweeteners (including sucralose, the main ingredient in SPLENDA), acidulates, citrates, savory flavors, animal feed, and ethanol.
