Tampa Bay Buccaneers Company Description
These pirates of the pigskin have plundered some Super Bowl gold. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers entered the National Football League as an expansion team in 1976 and reached the NFC championship for the first time three years later. After that, however, post-season glory eluded the team for nearly 20 years until the late 1990s and early 2000s when the Bucs became regular playoff contenders. Hiring head coach Jon Gruden for the 2002-03 season paid off in a big way as the team won its first Super Bowl. Malcolm Glazer, whose family controls New York-based fish oil firm Zapata, purchased the Buccaneers in 1995 after original owner Hugh Culverhouse died.
