Overview
Türkiye Petrol Rafinerileri (Turkish Petroleum Refineries), also known as TÜPRAS, makes petroleum products, including naphtha, gasoline, and lubricants, for civilian and military customers, and operates four crude oil refineries in Turkey. TÜPRAS, which has a processing capacity of about 28.1 million tons of crude oil a year, obtains its supply primarily from sources in Algeria, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Syria. The company also owns 80% of petroleum shipping company DİTAŞ, and 40% of Opet Petrolcülük, which operates about 1,260 gas stations in Turkey and holds a market share of 14%. A consortium led by Turkish conglomerate Koç Holding controls 51% of the company.
