Overview
This network is hardly a stranger in the strange land of cable TV. Formerly SCI FI Channel, Syfy is a leading cable television broadcaster that offers entertainment programming focused on science fiction and fantasy to more than 95 million US homes. The channel's programming includes such original series as Caprica, Eureka, and Warehouse 13, as well as made-for-TV movies and miniseries (Dinocroc vs. Supergator, Stonehenge Apocolypse). In addition to television, Syfy operates a network of websites including Dvice (technology news), Fidgit (video games), and SCI FI Wire (television and film reviews). Launched in 1992, the network is part of media and entertainment giant NBCUniversal (NBCU).
