Overview
This network is hardly a stranger in the strange land of cable TV. Formerly SCI FI Channel, Syfy is a leading cable broadcaster offering entertainment programming focused on science fiction and fantasy to more than 90 million US homes. The channel's programming includes such original series as Doctor Who, Eureka, and Warehouse 13, as well as made-for-TV movies and miniseries (Alien Apocalypse, Tin Man). In addition to television, Syfy operates a network of Web sites including Dvice (technology news), Fidgit (video games), and SCI FI Wire (television and film reviews). Launched in 1992, the network is part of NBC Universal Cable, the cable programming arm of NBC Universal.
