Under the Sure Fit name, its products are sold through department stores including Bed Bath & Beyond and JCPenney, as well as through catalogs and online. Its Web site provides consumers with seasonal decorating and measuring tips, as well as furniture-fitting advice. After filing for bankruptcy protection in March 2004, Sure Fit was bought by D. E. Shaw Laminar Portfolios (an affiliate of The D. E. Shaw Group) in August 2004.
