SunPower Company Description
SunPower won't keep you in the dark. The company makes solar cells and panels for governmental, residential, and commercial customers; and also sells imaging and infrared detector products made using SunPower's thin-wafer manufacturing process. Leading customers include Conergy, MMA Renewable Ventures (about 16% of sales), SolarPack (18%), and Solon AG. Customers in Europe account for half of the company's sales. Cypress Semiconductor distributed to its shareholders all of SunPower's Class B common shares in 2008, ending its voting control over the former subsidiary.
