Southern States Company Description
Founded to provide affordable, high-quality seed to Virginia farmers, Southern States Cooperative has grown to an agricultural powerhouse, serving its approximately 300,000 members, mainly in Mid-Atlantic and Southern states. The co-op makes and/or offers just about everything agricultural to its farmer owners including feed and fertilizer production, seed processing, grain marketing, and petroleum and propane services, and wholesale farm supplies. Its Southern States and Garden South stores sell farm supplies, garden products, and fuel through some 1,200 retail outlets in 23 states. Other services include sales financing, crop services, and an aquaculture program.
