Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) -- the company that brought us the big screen version of the Marvel comic Spider-Man -- is the media/entertainment unit of Sony Corporation of America, the US arm of Japanese electronics giant Sony. SPE's movie unit Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group released 2007's Spider-Man 3, which broke records at the box office. Additional recent titles include Superbad and The Pursuit of Happyness.
