Solar Turbines, a subsidiary of Caterpillar, designs, manufactures, and services gas turbines used in power generation, natural gas compression, and pumping systems. Its gas turbines are capable of producing 1 MW to 22 MW (1,500-30,000hp). In addition to six gas turbine product families and eight centrifugal gas compressor product families (including pipeline and multi-stage compressors), Solar Turbines also offers Turbotronic, a microprocessor-based control system. The company's services include financing, installation, and support. Exporting more than 70% of its products, Solar Turbines operates in about 100 countries.
