Sims Group provides metal recycling services in Australasia, the UK, and the US through its Sims Metal division. Its Sims Manufacturing division manages Sims' secondary aluminum and plastics recycling operations in Australia, its commodities trading operations, and its Sims Aluminium unit. Sims Energy manages specialist renewable energy company LMS, which researches, installs, and develops landfill gas systems, renewable energy, and power generation technologies. Sims has merged with New York based-Hugo Neu Corp. In 2008 the company bought Metal Management to become the largest metal recycler in North America.
