SEZ Group Company Description
SEZ Holding knows that a soggy cracker isn't exactly the same thing as a wet wafer -- at least in the semiconductor industry. The company, which operates through the various legal entities of the SEZ Group, makes surface preparation equipment used to condition silicon or gallium arsenide wafers during the manufacturing of semiconductors. The company's tools are used not only by chip makers, but also by wafer manufacturers. SEZ also markets spin processing equipment for the application of process chemicals on wafers. More than 80% of its sales comes from the Asia/Pacific region. SEZ was founded in 1986. Lam Research has acquired SEZ for about $568 million in cash.
