Semen Gresik Company Description
Semen Gresik is solidly planted in the cement business. Founded in 1957, the company is capable of producing 17 million tons of cement annually and commands a 45% share of the Indonesian cement market. Semen Gresik produces and markets two types of cement: OPC hydraulic cement (widely used by the construction industry); and PPC mixed cement (used in large-scale projects like dams and irrigation systems. Semen Gresik became the first state-owned Indonesian company to be publicly listed in 1991. The Indonesian government controls 51% of company shares.
