Securities America provides a little financial security for the land of the free and the home of the brave. Operating through various subsidiaries, Securities America distributes mutual funds and annuities and provides retirement planning and wealth management services through a network some 2,000 independent financial advisors. Other products offered include stocks, bonds, options, and certificates of deposit. It has some $13 billion in assets under management. Its Product Distribution Group division sells life, health, long-term care, and disability insurance from an array of providers. Securities America is a subsidiary of Ameriprise Financial; both firms were spun off from American Express in 2005.
