Scottish Provident International tries to be a shore thing to offshore investors. A subsidiary of Royal London Mutual Insurance Society, the officially named Scottish Provident International Life Assurance offers international and expatriate investors a variety of life insurance, retirement-planning, trusts, managed funds, and other investment products. Scottish Provident International, which has more than £1 billion in funds under management, also has a subsidiary operating in Hong Kong. After the company was acquired by Royal London in 2008, it was announced that it would merge with fellow subsidiary, Scottish Liffe International, in order to create a single global division.
